Our talk on Wednesday 10th February 2016 “The Impact of Divorce on the Extended Family” marks the launch of a series of thought leadership talks by Family Law in Partnership which will run throughout 2016.
This practical talk will examine all the issues relevant to the impact of divorce on the extended family members and will look at research and policy in this field. It will provide practical steps and guidance, including how to maintain contact with members of the extended family going forward, and how to help and support parents and children emerge from family breakdown safe in the knowledge that they have a support network around them. We will cast a critical eye across research in this area and will provide tips and techniques to use.
We are delighted that Dr Avi Shmueli, a renowned clinical psychologist, couple psychotherapist and psychoanalyst, and Sarah Wellard, Director of Policy and Research at Grandparents Plus, have agreed to present the talk.
