FLiP’s David Allison Winner of Spear’s Family Lawyer of the Year 2023

We are delighted that FLiP Director David Allison has won Family Lawyer of the Year 2023 at the prestigious Spear’s Awards. The Spears Awards are known as the “Oscars of the Private Client World” and are designed to recognize and celebrate the exemplary achievements of private client advisers, wealth managers, lawyers, and service providers catering to HNW and UHNW individuals. 

Editor-in-chief, Edwin Smith presenting the award noted that the panel had commended David for his handling of a landmark case (Xanthopoulos v Rakshina) that made headlines this year.  David was praised for being ‘very on top of the case’ and ‘always cool, calm and courteous’. One judge noted David Allison remained ‘the consummate professional in what has been ‘searing and visceral litigation’.

David is a director at Family Law in Partnership. He acts for a wide range of individuals including business owners, entrepreneurs, bankers, other lawyers and their partners. The focus of his practice is financial claims on divorce, particularly those with an international element, but he is also well known for his expertise in the legal issues affecting cohabitants, same sex couples and civil partners.

David settles his cases outside the Court process wherever that is possible, and the client’s goals can be met without court intervention. However, where cases have to go to court he is a determined and effective litigator. He has a strategic approach to litigation that achieves excellent results.
