Family Law in Partnership Supports Resolution’s Good Divorce Week 2025
Good Divorce Week 2025 launches today (10 November 2025). This annual initiative, led by Resolution, raises awareness of how divorce and separation can be approached in a less confrontational and more constructive way.
This is core to our ethos at Family Law in Partnership (FLiP), so we are once again supporting Good Divorce Week and the values it promotes. For us, the principles of the Resolution Code of Practice are not just professional standards – they are part of who we are and how we seek to help people reach their best solutions.
Living the Code
The Resolution Code of Practice underpins everything we do. We see it as far more than a checklist, but as a reflection of our own values: reducing conflict, acting with integrity and putting people first.
One of our directors, a former Chair of Resolution, James Pirrie comments:
“John Cornwell’s idea back at the start of the 80s showed us all that we could choose to rethink how our work is done. Here over forty years later, FLiP is honouring that legacy in the way we continue to develop better ways for families to find their best futures.”
It’s at the heart of our approach. We were the first law firm to include mediators 30 years ago and have led the way in developing new models, including hybrid mediation and mediation to arbitration. Our team was instrumental in introducing child-inclusive mediation and also brought collaborative practice to the UK. As a forerunner in Non-Court Dispute Resolution (NCDR), we are delighted that the wider industry, including the Courts themselves, now recognise the benefits of this approach.
Putting People and Families First
At FLiP, we focus on helping families reach solutions that prioritise wellbeing and the best interests of any children.
We guide people through informed decision-making – whether through mediation, collaborative law, arbitration, or other NCDR routes – always aiming for fair, long-term outcomes.
Our team continually develop their skills through training, external family law supervision and reflective practice, ensuring they are equipped to handle even the most emotionally charged situations with care and expertise.
Standing Together for a Better Way to Divorce
Good Divorce Week 2025 is a reminder to everyone that there is a different way to divorce – one that reduces conflict and helps families move forward more positively.
Follow us during Good Divorce Week as our team shares short videos about the Resolution Code and how it benefits – not because we have to, but because it is part of who we are.
