Pre Marriage Preparation

When couples are preparing to get married, they can often want a safe space to be able to think and talk together about different aspects of this forthcoming change. We don’t offer a formal marriage preparation course as such but instead we offer a bespoke service whereby we can think and talk with couples about the issues that they want to focus on. Whether this is to check in on shared expectations, to air concerns, to discuss differences, or to process feelings stirred up by making a pre-nuptial agreement (which isn’t often easy). Often in the case of the latter our therapists work alongside the lawyers to support the couple who are making the pre-nuptial agreement.

Our Expertise →

Our team of counsellors are very experienced working with couples at this stage of their relationship.  An initial consultation allows a couple to articulate with the therapist their hopes and expectations for working with the therapist and to make a plan together about how to use the time together.

This article written by one of our therapists, Jo Harrison, focuses on the supportive role that therapy can play alongside the legal work when a couple are entering into a pre-nuptial agreement.

If you  are interested in exploring more about coming as a couple to help prepare for marriage, or to think through a pre-nuptial agreement, we would suggest meeting for an initial consultation to talk about how we might work together and structure any sessions.
