Parenting After Parting – Upcoming Parenting Courses

Parenting after Parting – Putting children first when parents part: Brought to you by Family Law in Partnership and The Parent Practice, and with thanks to Christina McGhee, the founder of Parenting After Parting.

The breakdown of a relationship is a time of heightened emotion and on top of your own distress you may be very concerned about how to provide and support your children’s needs.

You may be doubting if you’re doing enough to bolster your children emotionally.

You may worry about how to explain that you are no longer together and how to answer their questions.

You may be feeling that moving forward with your life seems a distant dream and that life will never be the same.

You or your ex may be forming new relationships and it may be difficult for your children to adapt.

You may be feeling exhausted and frustrated with the lack of effective communication between you and your ex.

Is this you?

  • You feel guilty that you are in a situation where your children may be hurt.
  • You worry about how your children will cope with the great changes and loss.
  • You feel overwhelmed and exhausted; you worry that you don’t have the energy for the children and don’t know what to do to change things.
  • You feel that the arguments and lack of consistency between you and your ex are damaging and confusing for the children.
  • You worry you’re failing as a parent and that your children will suffer.

You’ve tried to tackle all of this and make things better. But parenting apart is so complicated. And you’re not doing it in a bubble. Life is busy. And you have a lot on your plate and a lot of demands on your time.

So What’s The Answer?

Stay as you are, having good days and bad days, struggling along through the stress of bringing up children when separated from their other parent?

Or is it time to find new effective strategies to ensure your children not only survive but thrive in this new world?

Imagine A Calmer And Happier Home Life As ……

  • You help your children make sense of what is happening in their world and in the process they become emotionally aware and they learn that they can cope with challenges.
  • You provide the security and certainty they need to weather the current storm and to flourish in the future.
  • Your stress levels subside and you can focus on the needs of both yourself and the children.
  • Your communication with your ex improves so that you can effectively co-parent.
  • Both parents and extended families remain a positive force in the children’s lives.

If any of this resonates with you, it’s time to do something radically different. Wouldn’t it be good to finally learn a toolkit of skills and get that parenting manual you wish you’d had from the beginning?

Introducing the Parenting after Parting Course. A 3 session evening course putting children first when parents part.

At Parenting after Parting

We Don’t Deal Only In Theory

We do explain the theory – and help you understand  what’s happening to you and your children– but we also tell you exactly HOW to use specific skills and strategies in a practical way. It’s the step that’s missing in a lot of books and courses.

We Show You HOW To Apply This With All Ages

While the tools and techniques discussed will work with any age group, we recognise that there’s a big difference between toddlers and teens (though not as big as our teens like to think!) and we give you practical examples for children at different stages.

Here’s The  Course Content

Week 1  – Where you are now

  • Understanding where you are now: The emotional process of divorce
  • How to help kids deal with their experiences

Our Speakers

Dominic Raeside is one of the five principals who founded Family Law in Partnership in 1995. As an experienced mediator and a family and systemic psychotherapist, Dominic holds the strong belief that whilst separation and divorce is often a difficult and painful transition, it does not have to destroy the family.

Melissa Hood and Elaine Halligan, of The Parent Practice, are leading parenting coaches in the UK and Australia, keynote speakers and best-selling authors. They have many years of experience helping families, in good times and in hard times, to bring out the best in their children.

Parenting is a tough job at the best of times and when you’re emotionally distressed yourself and worrying about the impact of separation on your children, you need all the help you can get from experienced practitioners who are parents themselves.

We offer a compassionate and non-judgmental approach with loads of practical solutions to the problems which emerge when families undergo big change.
