No fault divorce bill will be debated in the House of Commons on Friday.
The second reading of the Bill on no fault divorce will take place in the House of Commons this Friday, 11th March 2016 (postponed from 22nd January). At Family Law in Partnership we’re really looking forward to seeing progress in this area of family law.
The no fault divorce Bill is a Private Members Bill introduced by MP Richard Bacon. The Bill, if passed, will make provision for a marriage or civil partnership to be dissolved when each party has separately made a declaration that the marriage or civil partnership has irretrievably broken down without a requirement for either party to satisfy the Court of any other facts or grounds for divorce ie. they will not have to show fault by either party.
