Good Divorce Week: Acting with Integrity and Respect in Family Law
In the first of four videos for Good Divorce Week 2025 David Allison highlights two of Resolution’s Codes of Practice:
- Listen to and treat everyone with respect and without judgment.
- Act with honesty, integrity and objectivity.
David explains that acting with integrity means helping people set realistic, positive objectives that bring long-term peace for themselves and their families. Direct feedback we have received has shown that this approach can shift mindsets and create lasting, fair solutions.
Equally important is listening and treating everyone respectfully. Confrontation often entrenches conflict, whereas a non-judgmental approach helps people reach agreement and reduce friction – both in and out of court. Through years of continued involvement with Resolution, our team champion honesty, pragmatism and constructive outcomes in every case.
David acts for a wide range of individuals including business owners, entrepreneurs, bankers, other lawyers and their partners. The focus of his practice is financial claims on divorce, particularly those with an international element. He has extensive experience in dealing with cases where jurisdiction is an issue and where often urgent steps need to be taken to secure the best jurisdiction for his clients. David is well known for his expertise in the legal issues affecting cohabitants, same sex couples and civil partners.
