Family Law in Partnership’s Head of Mediation Dominic Raeside has been appointed by the Ministry of Justice to the Voice of the Child Advisory Group.
The Group was formed following recommendations made by the Family Mediation Task Force to review the status of the Voice of the Child in family mediation. Dominic was also a member of the Family Mediation Task Force. Dominic joins an illustrious group of advisers led by Professor Jan Walker and Angela Lake Carroll and including Mr Justice Cobb.
The Group will review existing practice and guidelines to ensure that the necessary steps are taken to promote a child inclusive practice and to ensure that children’s and young people’s voices are heard in family mediation. The group will also consider the general principles for child inclusive family dispute resolution. It is expected to produce an interim report of its findings in January 2015.
This prestigious appointment follows hot on the heels of Dominic being named as a leading individual in family mediation by the legal directory Legal 500 UK 2014 “Dominic Raeside is “a truly outstanding mediator”. He has the ability to face into intractable problems and come out with workable solutions”. Family Law in Partnership was the only firm to be ranked top tier in Legal 500’s inaugural family mediation category.
