Good Divorce Week: What to Consider for Your Family’s Future
Our third video for Good Divorce Week features Senior Associate Selena Arbe-Barnes. Selena highlights the following Resolution Code of Practice:
- Help clients understand and manage the potential long-term financial and emotional consequences of decisions
Selena explains that separation or divorce is one of the most stressful experiences a person can face. People are making big decisions at a time when their ability to think clearly may be impaired.
At Family Law in Partnership, we support people to make informed, thoughtful decisions about their finances and children that will stand the test of time. This may include bringing in other professionals, such as financial planners or our in-house therapists, to help people step back, see the bigger picture, and feel confident that their choices are right for their family’s future.
Selena advises on a wide range of issues associated with the breakdown of marriage and relationships, including complex children and financial matters. Selena’s children cases often involve multi-layered child arrangement issues, including those where the most serious allegations have been made against parents. On financial matters, she assists clients at all stages of their divorce or separation with an approach tailored to their needs and circumstances – be it engaging in negotiation, alternative dispute resolution or court proceedings. Selena is also a qualified mediator working towards accreditation.
