The Law Society Gazette has featured an article, written by Family Law in Partnership director Gillian Bishop, called “Coping Strategies”. The article written to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Week highlights the psychological challenges involved in practising family law and the toll it can take on the wellbeing of family lawyers.
Gillian outlined the introduction of a supervision scheme at Family Law in Partnership which enables staff on an individual and confidential basis to discuss any issues of concern. Gillian also highlighted the work of FLiP Faculty in providing training to help family lawyers understand what is going on for their clients and themselves when dealing with the crisis of divorce and separation. FLiP Faculty is also launching a diploma in family law supervision to increase the pool of supervisors able to provide this type of assistance to other practitioners.
