Careers at FLiP

At FLiP we take a unique approach to family law. We balance our exceptional legal expertise with care and compassion, delivering intelligent and creative solutions for our clients while carefully managing any emotional impact.

Since its establishment in 1995, FLiP has pioneered a holistic approach to the resolution of family law issues with the aim of enabling clients to successfully move forward with their lives. The depth and breadth of our talented team including expert family lawyers, leading mediators and counsellors enables us to deliver an unrivalled level of support to our clients.

The success of our unique approach has meant that FLiP is regarded as one of the top family law firms in the country. FLiP is ranked top tier for family law and family mediation by Legal 500 UK (2020 and 2021); many of our lawyers have achieved top tier rankings in Chambers UK and HNW and are also ranked in Spear’s 500 and Tatler HNW to name but a few. Our excellence in client service has been recognised by Legal Business which named FLiP as a leader for client service – “Client Service Uncovered: The Best Rated Firms” (7th April 2020). The Times has also ranked FLiP as one of The Best Law Firms (2019, 2020 & 2021).

Our Team →

FLiP’s success is all about our people. We have built an exceptional team committed to the ethos and values of FLiP which guide what we do and how we do it. When recruiting we look for those people who have the knowledge and ability to meet our demanding standards. Successful candidates must also demonstrate an understanding of, and commitment to, our ethos and values.

We provide regular training and development opportunities to ensure our team is kept at the forefront of family law. We also work with individual team members to develop their personal brand and skills, offering the opportunity to gain additional qualifications as, for example, arbitrators, collaborative lawyers and mediators, where appropriate.

We value our team and do our best to ensure team members are fully supported and rewarded for the challenging work they do. This includes:

  • providing competitive remuneration structures for all staff;
  • providing Family Law Supervision and other wellbeing support;
  • offering flexible working arrangements from home and office; and
  • holding regular staff events, with plenty of opportunities to celebrate our successes.

FLiP is a rewarding, collegiate and supportive place to work. Our exceptionally high levels of staff retention are testament to this. At the heart of FLiP is our commitment to working in partnership – with our clients, and with each other.

Work Experience →

We appreciate that gaining work experience is an important way to learn more about the sector in which you may wish to develop your future career.

As with many law firms we receive far more requests for work experience than we are able to accommodate. And, given the nature of our work, we will only consider requests from those who have left school.

If you would like to be considered for work experience should an opportunity arise, please send a covering email, together with your CV, to Grace Lawrence at gml@flip.co.uk.

Diversity & Inclusion →

At FLiP we believe in treating all our employees equally and fairly. We aim to create a collaborative and inclusive culture that respects people’s differences and gives everyone the chance to excel.

We are committed to being an equal opportunities employer and we seek to provide equality of opportunity and diversity. Career opportunities at FLiP are open to all on merit regardless of age, gender, disability, religion or belief, sex, race, colour, ethnic or national origin, sexual orientation, social background, part-time or fixed-term status.

Our Diversity and Inclusion Committee is responsible for developing and implementing initiatives that enhance diversity and inclusion across the firm. The Committee meets regularly and is made up of a cross-section of our employees.
