Daniel joined the firm in 2005 as a senior assistant solicitor and became a Partner in April 2008. Daniel is committed to a client-focused, conciliatory and constructive approach, using his skills as a trained mediator and collaborative family lawyer in his everyday practice. In cases where court action is required, he is a determined litigator. He acted as London agent for CG in her successful appeal to the House of Lords in Re G (Children) in 2006 and for L in his successful action against his ex-wife and her solicitors in L v L&H (concerning ‘DIY disclosure’) in 2007. Daniel’s overall goal is to help clients to make the best of what is likely to be a very difficult time in their life, empowering them to have as much control of the process as possible and enabling them to make informed decisions. “I help clients by explaining the process options available, enabling them to make informed decisions about how they would prefer to move forward. I advise on the law and how that affects their situation. I strive to help clients achieve the best outcome for them and their children, whilst recognising that their preferred outcome may not necessarily be what the ‘court’ outcome would be”. Daniel is respected and commended by his peers in the family law field. The Chambers and Partners Directory has acknowledged this in each of its last three editions: 2008: Cited as “someone to watch” in London, describing him as a solicitor with an “incredibly technical focus”. 2009: Acknowledging his rise to partnership and referring to him as “an emerging talent in the field”. 2010: referred to as ‘up and coming’ and “noted for his ability to communicate and steer a path through complex areas of law”. Daniel has written articles for Family Law, New Law Journal, LexisNexis Butterworths and Resolution’s ‘The Review’. Daniel lives in North London with his partner and their young son.
